Then I found some interesting sides supporting freelancers and was tried
on oDesk couple times. The first impression is it has a good tracking
system for both freelancers and clients. But most of jobs posted are
just easy task in a short-term and needless to say they're not
well-paid. And seems more difficult to find a job that really interest
me.
Only top 3% talents went through screening process: it's a real
challenge, and it's not just sending application, make up experience and
wait for a chance that helps you catch a client. Too bad if client
hired a freelancer that not sufficient to the job - all to blame on his
bad luck! With TopTal it seems different, the screening process waranted
only top 3% application passed to the network. So the freelancers who
passed the interview looks like got a badge to prove his experience and
quality at work, which is really a great help for both freelancers and
clients.
Connecting people and sharing experience: the Blog! First thing
really impressed me and really got me, this is the place where you could
work and learn in the same time without googling the whole internet.
See the blog posts also help us have a vision on trending of market and
technologies innovation.
Long-term works: I'm not joined TopTal yet,
but it promised that giving freelancers oppotunities for long-term
contracts. So you wouldn't waste a whole day(s) just for finding new
project.
Finally, I applied my application recently and waiting for the call. Wish me luck!
