How To Get Your PC To Run Smoothly

It is quite common for computers to become slow over time. As your hard drive fills up with data, some applications might become slower. Your computer might take a long time to start up and you might have to wait several minutes for programs to open. You can do a few things to get your PC to run smoothly.

Start by opening the task manager to see how your CPU and memory resources are used. Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and look at the different programs running. You should see what percentage of your memory each application uses. Consider getting rid of some of the programs that use a lot of memory even though you don't need them.

If you see any programs that you do not recognize in this list, look up the name of these applications online. You might find that some of these applications are actually malware and need to be eliminated. You will probably find that most applications are harmless even though they use up your resources.

You should run a scan with an antivirus to find and eliminate malware. Malware and adware can slow down your computer and cause other issues. You should always have your antivirus turned on and should update it regularly. If you do not have a good antivirus program, it is time to invest in one or to download a free antivirus.

Visit the Control Panel to make some room on your computer. For more instructions see here: http://www.maintricks.com/. You can access a list of all the programs that launch in the background when you start your computer. If your computer takes a long time to start, you probably have too many programs that launch in the background and need to disable this permission for the programs you don't use.

You should also uninstall the programs you never use. They take up space on your hard drive and can slow down your computer, especially if there are a lot of them. If you have some files that you don't need, make some room on your computer by deleting them or by backing these files up on an external hard drive.

These tips will help you speed up your computer. There are a few additional things you can do, such as defragging your memory for older computer, using the disk cleaner utility or upgrading your computer by adding more RAM. Try these different things to see if it makes a difference and look for additional methods if your computer is still slow.
